The "Books Scandal of 1919" exhibit is a project of the Digital Initiatives Department of the North Dakota State Library (NDSL). The exhibit uses content and information from NDSL's Political Prairie Fire digital collection.
Much of the information for this exhibit was derived from the journal article "The North Dakota State Library Scandal of 1919" by Larry Remele, which appeared in North Dakota History (Winter 1977, vol. 44, no. 1, p. 21-29). North Dakota History is a publication of the State Historical Society of North Dakota.
The primary way to navigate the exhibit is to start on the homepage ("The Story") and then progress through each sub-page in sequential order. On each page under "The Story" tab, there will be "Next" and "Previous" buttons at the bottom of the page to assist with navigation.
The "Timeline" page/ tab is a supplement to the main story for the exhibit, and it provides another way to experience the story and events (in chronological order).
Learn more about the exhibit on the About This Exhibit page.
