The "LMB 100" exhibit is a project of the Digital Initiatives Department of the North Dakota State Library (NDSL).
100th Anniversary Question
Why does this exhibit use multiple years (1924/1925 and 2024/2025)? The Liberty Memorial Building (LMB) has a long history, as evident in this exhibit, and has had multiple milestones. Therefore, it is difficult to determine exactly what date is the "real" 100th anniversary of the LMB. For example, the building was planned and approved in 1919, ground was broken in 1920, the building was completed and occupied in 1924, and it was formally dedicated in 1925. The occupation date (1924) and the dedication date (1925) are both valid options, which is why for the purposes of this exhibit, they are both used.
