Bed Bugs in Libraries

By serving the public, the library opens itself up to potential bed bug outbreaks. Learn more about bedbugs and how the library can be prepared with the resources on this page.

Patron Resources

Patrons need to be notified about a bed bug outbreak at the library. On the other hand, if their materials come back with bed bugs in them, the library may need to suspend borrowing privileges in order to prevent a library outbreak. It's important to not condemn a person or label them as "dirty." Use language carefully. The templates below can help.
