Public Domain Day is coming! What is Public Domain Day? It’s only the best of unofficial holidays (in the eyes of those in the cultural heritage field).
Every year, on January 1, new works enter the public domain, and that is cause for a celebration. This year, certain works from 1928 that were copyrighted in the United States (like books and movies) and sound recordings from 1923 enter the public domain, which means they can be freely to shared, reused, copied, edited, etc.
